On Thursday night, April 2 crews will shift the southbound I-5 lanes of traffic onto the recently widened, outs ide portion of the freeway. To complete this work the southbound I-5 freeway will be closed, between Carmenita Road and Valley View Avenue, from 11:59 p.m. Thursday, April 2 until 4:59 a.m. Friday, April 3. Detour information for all closures can be found on the map to this page. In addition to the full freeway closure, the following closures are also scheduled next week:
- Two of the three lanes on northbound I-5, between Valley View Avenue and Carmenita Road, will be clos ed from 11:59 p.m. Thurs day, April 2 to 4:01 a.m. Friday, April 3
- Southbound I-605 connector to the southbound I-5 freeway will be closed from 11 p.m. Thurs day, April 2 to 5:59 a.m. Friday, April 3
- Carmenita Road on-ramp to southbound I-5 freeway will be closed from 9:01 p.m. Thurs day, April 2 to 5:59 a.m. Friday, April 3
Following this traffic shift on southbound I-5, the contractor will perform a similar shift along the northbound lanes of the I-5, tentatively scheduled for the week of April 12. Additional information, including dates and times of closures , will be provided once the schedule for this work is set.
