During the weeks of May 10 and May 17, nightly full freeway closures are scheduled (Sunday night through Thursday night, between midnight and 5 a.m.), so crews can remove falsework from the Carmenita Road bridge. Please note, the contractor will only close one direction of the freeway each night; for example, when northbound I-5 is closed, southbound I-5 will remain open and vice versa. In late-May 2015, crews will shift lanes of traffic along northbound I-5, onto newly completed pavement in the center of the freeway. In June 2015 (tentative), crews will shift traffic from the existing Carmenita Road bridge to the new bridge which is being built alongside the original structure. The traffic shift will include changes to the traffic pattern at Firestone Boulevard and Carmenita Road. More detailed information will be provided before the work is conducted.
