FLORENCE AVENUE INTERCHANGE PROJECT – Week of April 10, 2016

The most recent pile driving activity adjacent to the Florence Avenue interchange along northbound I-5, just south of the Florence Avenue bridge, has been temporarily completed. Crews also completed the most recent operation driving test piles along the southbound I-5 Florence Avenue on-ramp.

On Monday, April 11 crews will begin constructing a new driveway at the Florence Avenue Foursquare Church, on Roseton Avenue. This work will be conducted during the daytime between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. and will take approximately one week to complete.

Crews are working to form soundwalls along northbound and southbound I-5. Roadway excavation is underway behind k-rail and the construction fencing, along Mondon Avenue between Cecilia Street and Buell Street. Over the next few weeks crews will be pouring concrete for the new soundwall adjacent to southbound I-5. This work will be conducted weekdays (Monday through Friday) between 6:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. and will be ongoing for approximately the next two to three weeks.

Shoring activity is still underway along the Orr and Day railroad bridge, which passes underneath the I-5 freeway. This work will take place weekdays (Monday through Friday) between 6:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. and will be ongoing for approximately the next three to four weeks.
