**Update** Overnight I-5 full freeway closures between I-605 and Norwalk Blvd. are CANCELLED for the week of Feb. 18.

Construction of retaining walls along the Florence Ave. on ramp to northbound I-5 continues. Once the retaining walls are complete, the area against the walls will be backfilled. Then construction of the sound wall on top of the retaining wall near Longworth Avenue can begin. Construction of sound walls along the east side of I-5 in this area are projected to be complete around August.

Workers have been constructing forms on the outside of the rebar frames of the future retaining wall along the Florence Avenue on ramp to northbound I-5 (below):

Pile driving activity is complete for the retaining walls adjacent to the northbound I-5 Florence Avenue on-ramp on the east side of I-5. Crews have moved to the west side of I-5 alongside the southbound lanes where pile driving continues 700 feet away from the sound walls near Longworth Avenue. Pile driving should be complete in about three weeks.

Please be advised this work may be loud and disruptive due to equipment noise, vibration and pounding related to pile driving activity, and construction lighting (if equipment needs to be moved at nighttime). Pile driving activity will take place weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m

Crews are also constructing support columns for the second half of the Florence Avenue bridge on the west side of I-5. Completion of the second half of the bridge is projected for Fall of 2018.

Demolition of the Orr & Day bridge over the railroad tracks south of Florence Ave. continues for about two more weeks. Crews will also remove the stem wall.

Some excavation in the construction area continues, but there is currently no grading.
