FLORENCE AVENUE INTERCHANGE PROJECT – Week of June 18, 2017

Crews will continue nighttime work to construct the falsework system for the new half of the Florence Avenue bridge. The falsework system is used as a gigantic  work table to provide support while constructing bridge and it includes a top, legs, feet and bracing. Just as a work bench is assembled, the pads or feet of the falsework touch the ground surface and the very top of the work bench is what crews call the soffit. It is atop that elevated surface of the falsework  where crews build and cast the new bridge superstructure.
