Imperial Highway & Pioneer Blvd. Project – Week of Apr. 20 – April 27, 2018

Construction on this project is 80% complete.
Projected date of completion: Late 2018.

Northbound and southbound I-5 are tentatively scheduled to have only one lane open from south of Norwalk Blvd. to south of Florence Ave. from 11 p.m. Sunday, April 29 until 6 a.m. Sunday, April 30 to secure K-rail.

Southbound I-5 is scheduled to have only one lane open from I-605 to Norwalk Blvd. from 11 p.m. Thursday, May 3 until 6 a.m. Friday, May 4.

Use I-710 (Long Beach Freeway) to State Route 91 (Artesia Freeway) as an alternate route.

Pioneer Blvd. is scheduled to be closed in both directions between Imperial Highway and Crewe St. on the nights of Sunday, April 29, Monday, Apr. 30, and possibly Tuesday, May 1 for repaving. Pioneer Blvd. will close at 6 p.m. each night and re-open at 6 a.m. each morning. The Pioneer Blvd. on ramp to northbound I-5 will also be closed. Access to Crewe street will be closed at Pioneer Blvd., but vehicles will be able to access Crewe St. from Norwalk Blvd. Use Norwalk Blvd. as an alternate route. Closure map below:

San Antonio Dr. / Norwalk Blvd. is scheduled to be closed each night Wednesday, May 2 through the night of Tuesday, May 15 from Adoree St. to the frontage road along the west side of I-5 to allow construction of the San Antonio Bridge. San Antonio Dr. / Norwalk Blvd. will close at 9 p.m. each night and re-open at 6 a.m. each morning. Adoree St. and the I-5 Norwalk Blvd. on and off ramps will remain open.

If the Pioneer Blvd. re-paving is complete after Monday, April 30, then the San Antonio Dr. / Norwalk Blvd. closures will begin the night of Tuesday, May 1. Use Pioneer Blvd. or Bloomfield Ave. as alternate routes. Closure map below:

I-5 from Silverbow Ave. north all the way up to Pioneer Blvd. is in varying stages of progress with crews spreading base (gravel), grading, compacting and paving. This activity includes compaction with a vibratory roller, so residents in the nearby neighborhoods may experience noise and vibration during the day.

As crews work on Imperial Highway, Norwalk Boulevard and Pioneer Boulevard bridges at I-5, one lane in each direction may be closed on each street (at I-5) during the daytime, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
