Imperial Highway & Pioneer Blvd. Project – December 7 – December 14, 2018

Construction on this project is 87% complete.

Beginning Monday, Dec. 10, the sidewalk on the northbound side of Pioneer Blvd. north of Imperial Highway will be temporarily closed to allow tile work on the wall of the bridge. Pedestrians will be directed to use the sidewalk on the southbound side of Pioneer Blvd.

 

The new Norwalk Blvd. off-ramp from northbound I-5 opened to the public at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21. Photos below from November 27. (Tap / click on photos for slide show and details):

 

Workers are now constructing the sound wall north of Imperial Highway. Photos below from November 27:

 

We are also reconstructing the median and adding lanes to Norwalk Blvd. north of the San Antonio Bridge. Photos below from October 30 and November 27:

 

Construction of  the median barrier rail along new lanes of I-5 between Norwalk Blvd. and Imperial Highway is complete.  Crews are now constructing barrier rail north of Imperial Highway. Photos below from November 20:

 

As crews work on Imperial Highway, Norwalk Boulevard and Pioneer Boulevard bridges at I-5, one lane in each direction may be closed on each street (at I-5) during the daytime, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
