During the week of June 29, crews will begin work on Union Street, between San Antonio Drive and Paddison Avenue, to complete the planned roadway improvements as part of the I-5 Improvement project. Union Street is being
widened, sidewalks will be reconstructed and the street will become a cul-de-sac adjacent to San Antonio Drive. Access for local residents will be maintained at all times. Residents that live adjacent to this work will be notified with additional
information before this activity begins.
Crews are preparing to shift the southbound I-5 lanes of traffic (between Pioneer Boulevard and the Silverbow Avenue pedestrian bridge), onto new pavement along the widened, outside portion of the freeway. This traffic shift is tentatively
scheduled to take place in July 2015. Additional information will be provided once this work is scheduled.
Construction activity is ongoing with several sound walls along the northbound and southbound I-5. In addition, work continues on the frontage roads along the northbound I-5 (Adoree Street) and southbound I-5 (Southbound Frontage
Road). The week of June 8, crews will temporarily close Adoree Street between Norwalk Boulevard and Kalnor Avenue; access will be maintained for local residents. Adoree Street will not be accessible from Norwalk Boulevard.
