IMPERIAL HIGHWAY & PIONEER BOULEVARD PROJECT – Week of May 21, 2017

On Monday night, May 22, crew will begin nighttime demolition activity to remove the old Pioneer Boulevard bridge at I-5 freeway. This work will be ongoing at night for approximately two weeks. Please be advised this work may be loud and disruptive.

While demolition work is being conducted, Pioneer Boulevard will be closed to all traffic in both directions, between Imperial Highway and Crewe Street, nightly, Sunday through Thursdays, between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., for approximately two weeks. The northbound I-5 Pioneer Boulevard on-ramp will also be closed nightly while this work is completed. The closure is shown in red on the map below. Motorists will be directed to follow the detour routes highlighted in green, to bypass the closure area.

Pile driving activity along I-5 at Pioneer Boulevard is ongoing; this work will be conducted weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and will be ongoing intermittently for approximately three months. Please be advised this work may be loud and disruptive due to equipment noise, vibration, and pounding related to pile driving activity.

As crews work on Imperial Highway, Norwalk Boulevard and Pioneer Boulevard bridges at I-5, one lane in each direction will be closed on each street (at I-5) during the daytime, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

For full closure and detour information, please see the Google map below.
