Pile driving activity is underway at Pioneer Boulevard and will be conducted weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.; this work will be ongoing for approximately two weeks.
Beginning the week of Nov. 9, crews will begin mobilizing equipment to conduct Cast in Drilled Hole (CIDH) drilling activities on Mondon Avenue, between Tina Street and Bayla Street. This work involves drilling holes in the ground to prepare the retaining wall foundations, as part of planned roadway improvements as part of the I-5 Improvement project. Crews will be moving equipment into place as they conduct drilling activities.
Access to Mondon Avenue will be temporarily limited to local traffic only, for approximately the next 10 weeks, as crews work to complete improvements in this area. This work will be conducted weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. For the safety of the public and work crews, “No Through Traffic” signs will be posted on Mondon Avenue at the intersections of Bayla Street and Tina Street.
As crews prepare to install falsework at Imperial Highway at I-5, full nighttime closures are planned Thursday, Nov. 12 and Sunday, Nov. 15 through Thursday, Nov. 19. Imperial Highway will be closed to all through traffic underneath I-5, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., Thursday night, Nov. 12, and nightly, Sunday, Nov. 15 through Thursday, Nov. 19, as crews work to erect falsework for the new Imperial Highway bridge. The detour route is highlighted in blue on the map below, the closure area is shown in red. Crews will place signage in the field to notify the public in advance of these closures.
