Crews are preparing to shift the southbound I-5 lanes of traffic (between the Silverbow Avenue pedestrian bridge and Shoemaker Avenue), onto new pavement along the widened, outside portion of the freeway. This traffic shift is tentatively scheduled to occur in May. Additional information will be provided once this work is scheduled.
Paving activity along the southbound I-5 (from Silverbow Avenue pedestrian bridge to Carmenita Road) will be ongoing for approximately five to six weeks, and will include intermittent daytime and nighttime activity. This work may require nightly lane closures along the southbound I-5 freeway, as well as intermittent closures of the southbound I-5 off-ramp at Carmenita Road. Please be advised, night work may be disruptive due to construction lighting, equipment noise and general construction activity.
