The contractor is preparing to reopen the Rosecrans Avenue on and off-ramp to the southbound I-5 freeway at the end of the month. Before these ramps are open to traffic, crews must reconstruct portions of Rosecrans Avenue, between
Bloomfield Avenue and the freeway. This work will require a 55-hour full closure of eastbound Rosecrans Avenue, between Bloomfield Avenue and the I-5 freeway (May 15-18). Additional information regarding this closure will be sent out next week in a stand-alone email blast. Closure information will also be available on the project Google map.
Crews are preparing to shift southbound I-5 lanes of traffic (between the Silverbow Avenue pedestrian bridge and Shoemaker Avenue) onto new pavement along the widened, outside portion of the freeway. This traffic shift is
tentatively scheduled to occur in May 2015 (tentatively scheduled May 14). Additional information will be provided once this work is scheduled. Paving activity along the southbound I-5 (from the Silverbow Avenue pedestrian bridge
to Carmenita Road) is ongoing and will include intermittent daytime and nighttime 2015 activity. Please be advised, night work may be disruptive due to construction lighting, equipment noise and general construction activity.
