The full freeway closure of southbound I-5 at Rosecrans Avenue that was scheduled to take place Thursday night, Feb. 4 (11:59 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5) and Saturday, Feb. 6 (1 to 6 a.m.) has been cancelled.

In lieu of the full freeway closures, crews will close the southbound I-5 Rosecrans Avenue on-ramp intermittently between 11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5 and 6 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, in order to move construction equipment onto the freeway. The number three lane (far right outside lane) on southbound I-5 may also be closed intermittently during this time.

The week of Feb. 7 Rosecrans Avenue will be closed to through traffic underneath I-5, nightly between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., Monday, Feb. 8 through Friday, Feb. 12. These closures are needed as crews complete lighting work on the Rosecrans Avenue undercrossing. Motorists will be directed to follow the detour routes highlighted in green on the map below.

Work area is highlighted in red; local access will be maintained for residents and businesses off Bloomfield Avenue and Firestone Boulevard.No access to Rosecrans Avenue underneath I-5 freeway. Rosecrans Avenue I-5 on and off-ramps will also be closed while this work is completed. Motorists will be directed to follow the detour routes highlighted in green, to bypass the closure area

In addition to this work, crews are preparing to open the new Silverbow Avenue pedestrian overcrossing in mid- to late- February.
