The full freeway closure of southbound I-5 at Rosecrans Avenue that was scheduled to take place Thursday night, Feb. 4 (11:59 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5) and Saturday, Feb. 6 (1 to 6 a.m.) has been cancelled.
In lieu of the full freeway closures, crews will close the southbound I-5 Rosecrans Avenue on-ramp intermittently between 11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5 and 6 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, in order to move construction equipment onto the freeway. The number three lane (far right outside lane) on southbound I-5 may also be closed intermittently during this time.
The week of Feb. 7 Rosecrans Avenue will be closed to through traffic underneath I-5, nightly between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., Monday, Feb. 8 through Friday, Feb. 12. These closures are needed as crews complete lighting work on the Rosecrans Avenue undercrossing. Motorists will be directed to follow the detour routes highlighted in green on the map below.
In addition to this work, crews are preparing to open the new Silverbow Avenue pedestrian overcrossing in mid- to late- February.
