Rosecrans Avenue will be closed to through traffic in both directions under I-5 (between Bloomfield Avenue and Firestone Boulevard), from 9 p.m. Thursday, July 23 to 5 a.m. Friday, July 24 and nightly between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., Monday night, July 27 through Friday night, July 31. Motorists will be detoured along the routes highlighted in green on the map below.
Work area is highlighted in red; local access will be maintained for residents and businesses off Bloomfield Avenue and Firestone Boulevard.No access to Rosecrans Avenue underneath I-5 freeway. Rosecrans Avenue I-5 on and off-ramps will also be closed while this work is completed. Motorists will be directed to follow the detour routes highlighted in green, to bypass the closure area.
In addition to nightly closures on Rosecrans Avenue, during daytime work next week crews will mobilize a crusher in the center of the freeway, in order to process and recycle concrete and debris that was produced after the demolition of the Silverbow Avenue pedestrian bridge and the Rosecrans Avenue bridge.
