Daytime demolition activity of the Firestone Boulevard undercrossing at the I-5 freeway is ongoing and should be completed by Sunday, June 7; this work is being conducted between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. On Monday, June 8 (tentatively) crews will begin two to three weeks of nighttime demolition activity to remove the old Rosecrans Avenue bridge at the I-5 freeway. In order to minimize impacts to the traveling public and limit exposure of work crews to live traffic, demolition activity at Rosecrans Avenue must be conducted at nighttime and will require full closure of Rosecrans Avenue in both directions underneath the I-5 freeway. This work will be conducted at night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. and will require a full closure of Rosecrans Avenue under I-5 in both directions. Visit the project Google map for detour information. Additional information will be provided before this work takes place. Please be advised this work will be loud and disruptive due to bridge demolition, equipment noise and construction activity.
