ROSECRANS AVENUE & BLOOMFIELD AVENUE BRIDGE PROJECT – Week of May 3, 2015

The number two lane of westbound Rosecrans Avenue will be closed from 9 p.m. tonight (Friday, May 1) to 5 a.m. Saturday, May 2, to accommodate the concrete paving operation of the northbound 1-5 Rosecrans off-ramp. On Saturday, May 2, crews will be setting signal poles at the southbound Rosecrans Avenue on- and off-ramp. Motorists may encounter delays while the work is being completed.

The contractor is preparing to reopen the Rosecrans Avenue on and off-ramp to the southbound 1-5 freeway (tentatively weekend of May 9-10). Before these ramps are open to traffic, crews must reconstruct portions of Rosecrans Avenue, between Bloomfield Avenue and the freeway. This work may require extended closures of eastbound and westbound Rosecrans Avenue. Additional information will be provided as soon as the schedule is finalized.

Crews are preparing to shift southbound 1-5 lanes of traffic (between the Silverbow Avenue pedestrian bridge and Shoemaker Avenue) onto new pavement along the widened, outside portion of the freeway. This traffic shift is tentatively scheduled to occur in May 2015 (tentatively scheduled May 14). Additional information will be provided once this work is scheduled. Paving activity along the southbound 1-5 (from the Silverbow Avenue pedestrian bridge to Cannenita Road) is ongoing and will include intennittent daytime and nighttime activity. Please be advised, night work may be disruptive due to construction lighting, equipment noise and general construction activity.
