On Sunday night, Nov. 15 a full closure of northbound I-5 is scheduled from 11:59 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16; northbound I-5 will be closed between Carmenita Road and Norwalk Boulevard / San Antonio Drive. For detailed detour information regarding this closure, please visit the project Google map. This closure is needed so crews can install falsework for the new Rosecrans Avenue bridge.
Pile driving activity at the Rosecrans Avenue bridge at I-5 is underway and will continue for the next two consecutive Saturdays. This work will require daytime and nighttime lane reductions and closures on Rosecrans Avenue at I-5. Pile driving activity will be conducted between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The Rosecrans Avenue on-ramp to southbound I-5 will be closed to traffic, as well as eastbound and westbound Rosecrans Avenue underneath I-5 on Saturday, Nov. 14 and Saturday, Nov. 21, between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. In addition, the southbound I-5 Rosecrans Avenue off-ramp will also be closed Saturday, Nov. 14 and Saturday, Nov. 21, between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m.
Nightly closures will be in effect on eastbound Rosecrans Avenue underneath I-5 (Sunday through Thursday nights) for the next two weeks, as crews conduct work on the bridge bents at the undercrossing. Eastbound Rosecrans Avenue will be closed to through traffic underneath I-5 for the next two weeks, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Please note, the I-5 on- and off-ramps at Rosecrans Avenue may also be closed intermittently.
Motorists will be directed to follow the detour routes highlighted in green on the map below, when eastbound Rosecrans Avenue is closed at I-5.
Work area is highlighted in red; local access will be maintained for residents and businesses off Bloomfield Avenue and Firestone Boulevard.No access to Rosecrans Avenue underneath I-5 freeway. Rosecrans Avenue I-5 on and off-ramps will also be closed while this work is completed. Motorists will be directed to follow the detour routes highlighted in green, to bypass the closure area
